Even a casual look around the world reveals that there are Africans who meet the test of a New Generation African Leader. The ideal political
leader for the unique socio-geopolitical situation of Africa can be found in Africa today and around the world. But, the existence of
obstructive political structures and the likelihood of vicious media character assassination have thwarted the emergence of a continental
African Leader. As a result, Africa has not benefited from many a good African, the consequences of which are global and internal
political and economic weaknesses. The African People must, therefore, identify their true leaders and call them to service. The people of
Africa must call their chosen leaders to lead all Africans towards achieving the New African Political Mission - African Unification and
Democracy. UAO is committed to helping the African People in the search for ideal Africans. The aim is primarily to create a cadre of New
Generation of African Leadership, worthy of emulation by current and future politicians of Africa.

Below are the essential characteristics of a New Generation African Leader.
| The New African Leader ..... The essential human attributes To define the essential characteristics of a New Generation African Leader, one must know what is the appropriate political mission of Africa today. The African political mission is the attainment of African Unification and Democracy. Therefore, the qualities of an African political leader must be such as to enable Africa achieve her political mission. Such a leader must possess the experience and the ability to handle multiple but fast changing local, state, national and international situations in order to be able to accomplish the mission. To accomplish Africa’s mission, a New Generation African Leader must be well equipped with diverse qualities and Africa has many of such leaders today. Leadership qualities are varied and Africa must harness all these qualities from all parts of Africa to maintain peace and prosperity in Africa. Among the many qualities of a leader, vision stands out as the most important leadership quality essential to achieving the New African Political Mission. A Visionary A leader is a person who sees the future today and set up plans, prepares and mobilizes the people to deal with the perils and challenges that lay ahead and to avoid, eliminate, or prevent the perils of the future from afflicting the people. The vision of a leader saves a people. Also, a visionary leader is a person who sees the future today and set up plans and prepares the people to maximize the potentials of the future for the good of the people. The leader leads the people to achieve social and economic advancement. Africa has good leaders who can save Africa from diseases, poverty and wars. Africa has leaders who can create future prosperity for the African People. The vision of the New African Leader will save Africa from the present calamities of wars, diseases and poverty and create future prosperity for the African People. A Beacon A leader is a guiding star to the people, the one who lift up the lamp that shows the people the way to liberty, security and prosperity. A leader has the ability to provide guidance, a human quality so essential to the liberty and prosperity of a people. The urgent need to liberate Africa from wars, diseases and poverty requires a leader who can articulate a clear part to freedom - freedom from poverty, freedom from diseases and freedom from persecutions. A leader creates the path, the road, the plan that will lead the African People to a better tomorrow, to a safe and prosperous tomorrow. Africa, today, has such leaders. An Inspirer A leader has the ability to inspire based on personal credibility and integrity. The words and deeds of a leader inspire the people to greater goals. A leader has the ability to inspire because the people are willing to listen to the leader and the people are willing to listen because of the credibility and integrity of the leader. Credibility and integrity are essential personal attributes that can motivate and mobilize the African People towards achieving Africa’s goal, which is the goal of a prosperous future and the goal of a peaceful future devoid of wars, diseases and poverty. African has leaders with credibility and integrity. An Architect A leader is an architect of consensus. A leader is a consensus builder and has the ability to persuade and convince. A leader builds consensus by accentuating the common destiny of groups of people not their minor differences. A leader is never at war with opposing groups. A leader is on a mission to persuade and convince people to his side while focusing on the greater interest of the people not the parochial interest of a few vociferous powerful groups. A leader knows that even the wisest or the most knowledgeable person cannot be right all the time. Knowing the natural limitation of a person, a leader leads by listening to allies and foes alike, by compromising but not deviating from what is right for the people and by opposing the people when the people are wrong. Consensus architect is an essential attribute because Africa needs a leader who leads by consensus, not by confrontation, intimidation or victimization. Africa has consensus builders who can lead Africa away from ethnic polarization and wars. Africa has such leaders who can achieve permanent peace on the Land of Africa. A Source A leader is a source of unity. A leader is an epicenter of a unifying force. A leader becomes a source of unity by building on the affinity of groups of people to create a unified nation. A leader unites people. A leaders does not divide people. A leader has the human attribute that brings groups of people together to achieve national goals. The persona of a leader draws groups of people together and create a unifying force from all segments of the nation to overcome the challenges of today and to benefit from the opportunities of the future. As the creator of a united front towards achieving security and prosperity for all, a leader is a source of the collective strength of the people. Africa has such leaders today. Africa has a New Generation of Leaders who can marshal the collective strength of Africa towards the attainment of the African political mission. The Leadership Proposal UAO has identify Africans who have the qualities of a New Generation African Leader and would like to propose them to the African People. The Land of Africa needs a leader now. While the New African Leader is effectively confined by restrictive political structures, Africa faces the future leaderless. The Land of Africa, as a global geopolitical entity, is leaderless. A leaderless nation is a fragmented nation, a nation of disunity. A leaderless nation is a nation of competing groups, groups trying to out wit each other, out maneuver each other and sometimes out kill each other. Without a continental African leader, there can be neither security nor prosperity for the African People. Africa has leaders, but Africans must call them to service in order to benefit from leadership that lays dormant because of obstructive political structures and ferocious media assault of potential continental African leaders. There must be a clarion call to the New Generation of African Leaders in order to begin the process of establishing a strong leadership team for Africa. A call from the African People would compel strategic thinking of all African politicians today and as a result would bring a new perspective to the African political mission. To achieve the African political mission, UAO appeals to the African People to call their fellow Africans to the new leadership of Africa. Africa needs continental leaders to bring all Africans together and Africa has good people who have the credentials – the experience, the credibility and the integrity to lead Africa towards the attainment of the New African Political Mission.
